PingRobot vs UptimeRobot
UptimeRobot is the best-known uptime monitor, and its Free plan gives you 50 monitors. PingRobot gives you fewer free monitors, but includes the features UptimeRobot keeps for paid plans: SSL and domain expiry, cron job monitoring, DNS and API monitors, webhooks and maintenance windows.
UptimeRobot plans and prices were checked on 16 October 2026 on uptimerobot.com/pricing. Prices are in US dollars before tax. Plans change, so check their page before you decide.

Where PingRobot is ahead
- More of the product on the Free plan: SSL and domain expiry reminders, heartbeats, DNS record and API (JSON) monitors, webhooks, maintenance windows, custom headers and slow-response alerts, plus status-page announcements.
- 50 one-minute monitors for $9 where Solo has 10.
- Status-page email subscribers for $9: Pro includes them, with your own domain, where UptimeRobot keeps subscribers for Team and up.
- Password-protected status pages on Pro ($9), where UptimeRobot has them from Team.
- Signed webhooks on every plan, with an HMAC signature you can verify (webhook docs).
- Certificate problems, not only expiry: alerts when the certificate doesn't cover the host name, the intermediate certificate is missing, or the issuer changes.
- Free tools anyone can use without an account: SSL checker, domain expiry checker, redirect checker, DNS lookup and more.
Where UptimeRobot is ahead
- More monitor types: ping (ICMP) and UDP. PingRobot runs on Cloudflare's network, which can't send ICMP or UDP; TCP port monitors cover servers instead.
- Choice of regions and faster intervals: 30 seconds on Team and 15 seconds on Scale (PingRobot's fastest is 30 seconds, on Business).
- SMS and voice calls with prepaid credits, and mobile apps for iOS and Android.
- Integrations such as PagerDuty and Zapier.
- Richer status pages: translations from Solo, white-label from Team.
Which one should you choose?
Choose UptimeRobot if you need ping or UDP monitors, SMS or phone-call alerts, a mobile app or a white-label status page, or if you have dozens of simple sites to watch for free.
Choose PingRobot if you run a handful of sites, APIs or cron jobs and want certificate, domain, DNS, API and heartbeat monitoring, webhooks and maintenance windows without a paid plan, or 50 one-minute monitors and a status page on your own domain for $9.
Both have free plans, so the honest test is to run them side by side for a week. Start monitoring free — 10 monitors, no credit card.
Frequently asked questions
Is PingRobot a free UptimeRobot alternative?
Yes. PingRobot's Free plan has 10 monitors checked every 5 minutes, with email and signed webhook alerts, SSL certificate and domain expiry reminders, cron job (heartbeat) monitors, DNS record and API (JSON) monitors, maintenance windows and slow-response alerts. On UptimeRobot's Free plan those features aren't included, but you get 50 monitors.
How do the $9 plans compare?
UptimeRobot Solo is $9 a month billed annually ($10 monthly) for 10 monitors checked every 60 seconds. PingRobot Pro is $9 a month or $90 a year for 50 monitors checked every minute, with Slack, Discord and ntfy push alerts, webhooks and 5 status pages on your own domains with email subscribers.
What does UptimeRobot have that PingRobot doesn't?
Ping (ICMP) and UDP monitors, checks from several regions you choose, 15-second checks on their top plan, SMS and voice calls, mobile apps, and status pages with translations and white-label.
Can I move my monitors from UptimeRobot to PingRobot?
Yes, by adding them again: a monitor takes one URL. Keep both running for a few days and compare the alerts before you switch off the old ones.
